Cloud Services
All hype, or real business benefits? We think it depends on what you mean by cloud... so much hype, so little clarity. Here's our take. We believe strongly in the benefits of managed cloud hosting, but only if you choose the right type of cloud hosting services. Essentially, there are three types of cloud hosting services.
- Private Cloud
- Public Cloud
- Hybrid Cloud
Private cloud hosting services are basically a pool of resources allocated specifically to you and not shared with other customers.
Public cloud hosting services are larger pools of resources shared between multiple customers...think Amazon EC2, Azure, etc.
Hybrid cloud hosting services are a combination of public cloud hosting and private cloud hosting OR traditional network environments blended with private cloud hosting services.
We don't want to be Amazon or Microsoft...they do a good job on their own. Where we add value is in the private cloud hosting and hybrid cloud hosting services arena. We like to say "all the benefits of the cloud and none of the drawbacks". The problem is, there are a lot of challenges with public cloud hosting services... specifically, integration and security. Our unique approach allows you to produce business results and eliminate the drawbacks.
Are you positioned to extract value from the cloud? Let's talk and determine where cloud hosting services fit in your business.
Cloud Services Offerings
- Managed Infrastructure
At Jelecos, we’ve invested in infrastructure and expert resources so you can focus on adding strategic value, while lowering costs. We operate multiple, SAS-70-audited data centers to deliver highly reliable and scalable service – customized to your requirements. So, whether you need entry-level hosting or complex, multi-location, fully redundant solutions … you can count on us to deliver best-in-class service, support, capability and up-time.
- Server and Network Monitoring
Proactive always trumps reactive. What if you could avoid technology problems before they happen? Or, at a minimum, before your clients are impacted? We actually make a living giving companies this ability.
Remote Monitoring and Management services are one of the fastest growing sectors in the managed technology services industry, and for good reason. You want the customer experience to be consistent. You want to know when your technology isn't delivering on the brand promise you've put forward. We can simulate the experience and alert you, or our engineering team, before damage is done.
Want a 10,000 foot view of your entire environment? No problem. Want to be alerted when a system response time is above your threshold? Done. Even better yet... want us to address the situation before you even know about it? Handled. Let's be real - things happen. The difference is how - and when - you deal with the situation. Let's talk about being proactive.
- Hosted Microsoft Exchange 2010
If you're reading this, we'll assume you're comfortable with the concept of email being somewhat of a commodity. That's not to say it's any less important...quite the contrary. We often joke that Microsoft Exchange email is the most overlooked mission critical system. Nobody wants to call email and collaboration services mission critical - until things go down and the revolt begins. It can be complex.
Microsoft Exchange has a significant market share - it's a solid solution. And a complex solution. In order to take advantage of all the features Microsoft Exchange 2010 touts, you need multiple Microsoft Exchange Server roles and expert Microsoft Exchange engineering resources.
We recognize managed Microsoft Exchange email services are much more than just email. You need anti-spam, anti-virus, anti-malware, and potentially secure mail and archiving solutions. Who wants email without anti-spam?
We know email. We manage thousands of mailboxes and have the expertise and infrastructure to deliver a consistent, reliable and scalable solution.
- Shared Microsoft Exchange
Want all the benefits of Hosted Microsoft Exchange, but don't need a dedicated server? No problem, our shared Microsoft Exchange Hosting solution is the perfect fit. We team enterprise class Microsoft Exchange hosting with solid spam filtering, message archiving and message encryption to deliver a complete solution tailored specifically to what you need. Need to connect your iPhone? Android? Blackberry? Done, done and done. We offer generous storage allocations on our shared Microsoft hosting platform and expert assistance in migrating from your current solution.
- Rightsourcing
We don't believe in outsourcing for the sake of outsourcing, yet insourcing everything seems to bring one of those challenging "you don't know what you don't know" scenarios. How about a fresh perspective on sourcing in general? What exactly are you sourcing, anyway? It's not programming or server management...you need a business outcome, and most likely your stakeholders don't have much interest in how you produce said outcome. We add value by providing access to expert resources with experience across multiple horizontal applications and vertical industries. Let's think about it - real value is maximizing the current skills, talents and resources you have in house while augmenting those skills with new perspectives, new ideas and new ways of producing outcomes. Sounds eerily similar to innovation, doesn't it? We call it rightsourcing. You can use another term if you'd like, but bottom line for us is business outcomes.
- Compliance
In our experience, the biggest hurdle to compliance is often learning what, exactly, you need to do to comply. You're probably keenly aware of what statutes, acts, decrees, unfunded mandates, etc. your business is subject to, but how does that translate into real progress towards actual compliance? You can write all the policies and procedures you like - the real challenge is making sure people abide by them and you can provide the audit trail. The cultural component can't be, but often is, ignored. You need resources that have been on the front lines of a compliance effort. You need technology that supports adoption and delivers on the requirements. PCI Compliance, HIPAA compliance, SOX compliance, GLBA compliance and more. We've been on the front lines, we've withstood the audits, we've dealt with policy roll outs and adoption issues. This isn't our first rodeo. There's no reason you should have to reinvent the wheel.
- Managed Application Hosting
Finger pointing is rampant in the technology world. Actually, we'd go as far as saying it's absurd. We've been told again and again about the importance of a complete business solution...which means all that matters is the business objective. Bob in Accounting doesn't care that server xyz isn't compatible with the latest release of application abc. He cares about being able to do his job and produce the outcomes he needs to deliver. To that end, we strive to see the business perspective first, the technology perspective last. When most providers deliver support to "the OS level", we deliver support to the solution level... production support. If the solution isn't producing the desired outcome, it's broken...plain and simple. It doesn't matter who is at fault...broken is broken. With our application and infrastructure perspective, we are positioned to eliminate the finger pointing, focus on the outcomes and deliver results.
- Managed Hosting
Managed hosting solutions are not new and are vague, at best. We get that. Yet an important part of our ability to deliver value to lies in our ability to deliver an infrastructure as a service environment that allows you and your team to meet expectations and deliver business results. So...what is managed hosting? Really, it's nothing more than making sure your environment is cared for, loved and is healthy - yes, we said 'loved' - we didn't say we were normal... There are myriad tools, techniques and stuff (technical term) we throw into the mix to make sure this happens but, our experience tells us you really don't care about the details. You want it to work. Simple, straight forward and honest. If it doesn't work, you don't succeed. If you don't succeed, we don't succeed. Vested interest is a good thing for everyone. The difference is...we understand.
- Shared Hosting
By definition, shared hosting is the practice of placing multiple web applications on a single web and/or database server platform in an effort to deliver an affordable, yet capable, business solution. All that aside, there are a wide range of shared hosting services from which to choose. We don't proclaim to be the right fit for everyone, we simply provide services in a way we would want them to be if our business was on the line - which, by the way, it is. We're not in the game to compete with godaddy.com or 1and1.com - both of those example business models are valid and have their place. If lowest cost hosting is your objective, there may be better options out there compared to us. We're ok with that. Our job is to deliver results and we don't feel like mass hosting provides us the foundation we need to deliver those results. What business doesn't want infrastructure monitoring, backups and fault tolerance? Our philosophy is simple: what would we want if we needed this service? We understand not everyone is going to agree with this perspective and that's ok. There are hundreds of low cost providers of shared hosting services out there...we consider our services to be shared business hosting services. We'd rather not have you compete for resources with Aunt Edna's recent decision to stream her feline chronicles to the world. You can chuckle, but we've seen all that and more.
